The American Rescue Plan, which became law on March 11, 2021, delivers expanded assistance to millions of Americans – and hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians – to help lower the cost of their health insurance.

The financial assistance available to help pay for insurance through the Affordable Care Act has been increased. This means most people who get help paying for insurance will continue to receive support and have lower monthly premiums. Kentuckians who would not otherwise qualify for assistance are eligible.

As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, signed into law on August 16, 2022, these enhanced subsidies have been extended through 2025.
